FULL-TIME STUDENTS

The tuition for full-time students is $1,200.00 per semester. Students who are enrolled for over eighteen (18) credit hours per semester will be charged $90.00 per credit hour for those hours over eighteen (18) unless they are prescribed subjects for certain majors. Students are required to be enrolled a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours per semester to be eligible to live in campus housing unless prior approval is obtained from the Academic Dean and the Dean of Students.

PART-TIME STUDENTS

The tuition rate for part-time students (those under twelve [12] credit hours) is $140.00 per credit hour.

ROOM AND BOARD

The per semester cost for room and board is $1,800.00. During interim sessions, students may reside in the dormitories for an additional fee. Meal service will not be provided during interim sessions. Each student who desires to live in the dormitory during interim sessions must obtain approval from the Admissions Office prior to the session. All college rules apply during interim sessions.  Our washers and dryers are not coin operated, therefore a straight $50 fee per semester is charged to cover water and electric expenses.

INTERIM COURSES

Interim courses are accelerated courses taught between semesters. Students must pay for interim courses in full upon registration for the interim session. The charge for interim courses is $100.00 per credit hour.

Explanation of Fees

APPLICATION FEE

A twenty-five dollar ($25.00) non-refundable application fee must accompany each application for admission to Florida Baptist College. This fee helps to defer the cost of processing the application.

VEHICLE REGISTRATION

A twenty-dollar ($20.00) non-refundable vehicle registration fee is due each school year from each student for each vehicle. The sticker provided at registration must be placed on the bottom right hand corner of the windshield of the vehicle. The stickers are used to identify vehicles for parking privileges and security concerns and will be valid for the entire school year.

COMPUTER

A fifty-dollar ($50.00) fee will be assessed each semester for general use of the computer laboratory. This will allow students full access to the laboratory during designated periods.

INTERNET

This fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) covers the cost of Internet access and filtering software.

GRADUATION FEE

At the beginning of their final semester, a one hundred dollar ($100.00) graduation fee is charged seniors who intend to graduate. This fee covers the cost of cap and gown rental and other costs associated with graduation week. It does not include individual invitations or class rings, which may be purchased separately through the college.

LABORATORY FEE

Certain courses in music, computer and science require the payment of a fifty-dollar ($50.00) fee to cover additional lab costs associated with those courses.

DORMATORY PHONE

The charge for local phone service in campus housing is ten dollars ($10.00) per semester. Students may use cell phones or pre-paid calling cards for long distance telephone calls.

REGISTRATION AND MATRICULATION

A registration and matriculation fee is charged each semester to defray the cost of maintaining student records. This fee is one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00).

REGISTRATION AND RECORDS

Adding a Course

A fee of five-dollars ($5.00) per course is assessed for each course added after class registration. The student may not attend the added class until the Academic Dean approves the added class, the added fee is paid and any additional tuition is paid (i.e., if the added class makes the student’s course load more than eighteen (18) credit hours).

Dropping a Course

A fee of five-dollars ($5.00) per course is assessed for each course dropped after class registration. The student’s schedule will not be modified until the Academic Dean approves the drop and the fee is paid. If the drop request is made within the first week of classes, any additional fees charged in association with that course will be refunded. If the change is requested after the first week, fees will not be refunded and the student’s grade will appear as withdrawn passing (WP) or withdrawn failing (WF) on their academic record.

Late Registration Fee

If a student fails to register within the designated time period at the beginning of each semester, the student must seek permission from the Academic Dean to enroll. A late registration fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) will be assessed.

Late Examination Fee

If a student fails to take a mid-term or final examination on time, he/she may take a late examination after payment of the late examination fee of five-dollars ($5.00). He/She must also receive permission from the course instructor and Academic Dean.

STUDENT ACTIVITY FEE

A student activity fee of ninety-dollars ($90.00) will be charged each semester. This fee will defray the cost of a number of social activities that are planned each semester.

Application of Payments

PAYMENT PROCEDURE

The costs for tuition and room and board are divided into four (4) installments for those who wish to pay by installments. The first installment, along with all fees and book charges, is due at semester registration. Subsequent payments for the Fall Semester are due October 1st, November 1st, and December 1st. Subsequent payments for the Spring Semester are due February 1st, March 1st, and April 1st. A late fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) will be assessed if payment is not received by the 10th of the month. A thirty-five dollar ($35.00) charge will be assessed for any check returned unpaid by the bank.

Students who get behind in their account will have to go on the 70/30 plan as detailed in the Student Handbook. Students will not be given their final grades for the semester if their account balance exceeds two hundred dollars ($200.00). Students will not be permitted to re-enroll for the following semester until their account balance is paid in full.

1.    Method of Payment

Students may pay outstanding balances via cash, check, money order or cashier’s check. All forms of payment must be payable in U.S. funds.

2.    Full-Payment Discount

Students who pay their account in full at registration will receive a five percent (5%) discount on the tuition portion of their bill.

College Withdrawal and Cancellation Policy

After a student has enrolled at Florida Baptist College, any action (whether voluntary or involuntary) that causes the student to leave FBC before the routine completion of the semester will be considered a withdrawal. Students must complete a Withdrawal Form provided by the Registrar’s Office for the withdrawal to be officially recognized by the College

Students who voluntarily withdraw during the first month of classes will be responsible for twenty-five per cent (25%) of the tuition for the semester. Students who voluntarily withdraw before mid-term examinations will be responsible for fifty per cent (50%) of the tuition for the semester. Students who voluntarily withdraw after mid-term examinations will be responsible for the entire semester’s tuition.

Students who are involuntarily withdrawn (expelled) will be responsible for the entire semester’s tuition regardless of when they are involuntarily withdrawn.

Students that complete registration may cancel their registration for the semester. This must be done by the first day of classes. A Withdrawal Form must be filled out and submitted to the Registrar. Students who have followed this procedure will not be responsible for the semester’s tuition.

Scholarship Program

Florida Baptist College is committed to keeping the cost of tuition at a reasonable amount. We do not desire a lack of finances to hinder a student from obeying the will of God for his/her life.  Students are expected to do their part by working to pay their college expenses and being good stewards of their finances. In order to help those students who may not be able to afford to attend FBC despite their best work efforts and stewardship, FBC offers the following scholarships:

·       Christian Worker’s Scholarship

This scholarship is available to any student whose parents’ primary income is received from full-time ministry. The amount of this scholarship is $4,200.00 divided over a period of eight semesters.

Students must complete an application and provide proof of scholarship eligibility prior to being awarded a scholarship. Students receiving scholarships are expected to meet all their other financial obligations to the College. FBC reserves the right to withdraw the remaining semesters of a student’s scholarship if the student fails to meet his financial obligations.
